There were hundreds of volunteers and a DJ playing really hot music! A good time was had by all. The best news is now thousands of families will have nourishing food for breakfast. Other volunteers were filling bags with fortified rice and beans for dinner meals. “A few hours well spent. I will definitely do it again,” said Shelly.

The Hollywood Women’s Club Fifth Annual Margaritas in Paradise was held on September 23, 2016, at the terrific Crowne Plaza Hotel. Despite rain forecasts it was a festive, fun event. Great food thanks to Gino’s Italian Market, GG’s Waterfront Restaurant, The Greek Joint, Anthony’s Runway 84, Shenanigan’s Eastside Pub and desserts from Georgio’s and baked by members. A fabulous silent auction and raffle of an amythyst necklace provided additional funds raised. Most danced to the music of Cliff Meyers and Wyld Fyre. This was the last of these events.

Four of our ‘super’ volunteers participated again this year in cleaning up the Boys and Girls Club to be ready for fall.

The evening was fabulous! Forty members and their guests attended and enjoyed an appetizer buffet to die for!

On a hot, July, Saturday morning, 80 golfers arrived at the Fifth Annual Hollywood Women’s Club Golf Tournament. Bloody Marys and Mimosas were part of the continental breakfast while golfers registered and took to the putting green or greeting their team. And then they were off! With contests on specific holes, play was as fast as the temperature was rising. At the end of play, golfers and friends gathered at Shenanigan’s Eastside Pub for a fabulous brunch, raffle drawings and an exciting silent auction. It was a great day for the HWC, and we were able to raise over $8,500 net, not including the in-kind contributions of raffle and silent auction items. These funds will support our community service programs and the ongoing restoration of our 1927 historic Clubhouse. See you next year!
